Amcare Healthcare TCM Department: Personalized Traditional Chinese Medicine and Integrative Care

After nearly two decades of development, Amcare Healthcare has upgraded from a women’s and children’s specialty medical brand into a comprehensive healthcare platform. The group now operates 15 medical and service institutions across cities including Beijing, Tianjin, Hangzhou, and Shenzhen, and has served more than 800,000 Chinese and international families.

The TCM Department is one of the key departments of Amcare Healthcare. It aims to combine traditional Chinese medicine with modern diagnostic and treatment technologies. Based on TCM treatment principles, the department also uses modern medical examinations to better understand each patient’s condition and support more precise care planning.

The department emphasizes that the human body is an organic whole. Instead of only focusing on local symptoms, its clinical approach considers constitution, lifestyle, internal balance, qi and blood circulation, meridian function, and the relationship between symptoms and overall health.

Amcare Healthcare TCM Department follows the philosophy of combining wholeness, individuality, and natural therapy. It focuses on treating both symptoms and root causes, while supporting disease prevention and long-term health improvement.

Doctors design treatment plans according to each patient’s condition, constitution, timing, living environment, and personal needs. The department uses self-developed ointments, dressings, acupuncture, cupping, acupoint application, tuina massage, and other external therapies together with oral herbal decoctions to regulate qi and blood, clear meridians, balance yin and yang, and improve overall health condition.

Amcare Healthcare TCM Department brings together a team of well-known TCM experts. The team includes experienced specialists from traditional Chinese medicine hospitals, rehabilitation medicine, acupuncture heritage systems, and traditional bone-setting lineages.

Its expert team includes Director Kang Jia, former president of Beijing Gulou Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine; Director Mou Xin, former rehabilitation medicine expert from Beijing Army General Hospital; Director Tao Ye, fourth-generation inheritor of the Beijing intangible cultural heritage project “Cheng-style Acupuncture”; and Dr. Wang Yuzhi, eleventh-generation inheritor of Taiwan Wang’s bone-setting tradition.

The department provides multiple featured TCM clinics to meet different health needs. The TCM fertility preparation clinic focuses on regulating the liver, spleen, and kidney from within, using medicated diet, herbal paste formulas, and dietary guidance to support qi and blood regulation.

The TCM orthopedic correction clinic is supported by spine correction specialists and traditional bone-setting practitioners. It combines TCM syndrome differentiation, American-style chiropractic techniques, modern imaging such as MRI and CT when needed, and external therapies such as herbal paste, cupping, fire needling, acupuncture, tuina, and moxibustion.

The TCM pediatrics service combines herbal decoctions, acupuncture, tuina, auricular acupressure, gua sha, and modern standardized pediatric care. It may support common pediatric concerns such as cough, rhinitis, recurrent respiratory infections, food stagnation, constipation, tic disorders, attention-related concerns, myopia, and pediatric muscular torticollis.

The TCM gynecology service uses acupuncture and herbal therapy to support conditions such as infertility, premature ovarian insufficiency, polycystic ovary syndrome, amenorrhea, and dysmenorrhea. The department also provides TCM internal medicine and sub-health regulation for allergic rhinitis, chronic bronchitis, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, digestive discomfort, sleep disorders, insomnia, shoulder-neck-waist-leg pain, weight management, and chronic health issues.

Postpartum recovery services combine modern rehabilitation therapy, nutrition, and traditional Chinese medicine to help mothers with postpartum body recovery. Service areas may include pelvic instability, pelvic floor muscle injury, urinary leakage, postpartum low back pain, rib flare, hunchback posture, diastasis recti, abdominal wall relaxation, and hip sagging.

In 2025, Amcare Healthcare officially released its “TCM International Medical Tourism Service Package,” marking an important step in the group’s international development of traditional Chinese medicine services.

The package includes several traditional TCM diagnostic and treatment services, such as neck and lumbar spine treatment, facial meridian therapy, qi and blood regulation for pain management, pediatric tuina treatment, and foot and ankle sprain treatment. These services are designed to present traditional Chinese medicine in a structured and accessible way for international patients.

The TCM Department provides services through Amcare Healthcare’s hospitals and outpatient centers. Beijing Amcare Hospital was designed and operated according to JCI international standards, and its TCM Department is one of its key departments. Beijing Amcare General Outpatient Center is located in the Asian Games Village business district and covers multiple departments including internal medicine, surgery, gynecology, pediatrics, stomatology, ENT, dermatology, ophthalmology, TCM, and optometry.

Other Amcare institutions also provide TCM-related services, including women’s and children’s hospitals, maternity hospitals, and integrated medical centers. The TCM departments are equipped with modern medical facilities such as digital X-ray systems, four-dimensional ultrasound, and clinical laboratory testing equipment.

Amcare Healthcare TCM Department actively participates in the inheritance and promotion of traditional Chinese medicine culture. In September 2025, Amcare Healthcare was invited to participate in the TCM Theme Day opening ceremony of the 2025 China International Fair for Trade in Services and the 10th Traditional Chinese Medicine Conference.

The department’s experts also participate in cross-strait TCM and youth talent exchange activities. The group has established the Amcare Foundation to continue public welfare work. In 2026, two hospitals under Amcare Healthcare joined the Mayo Clinic Care Network, opening a new stage in the group’s international medical development.
